Spectators: 5100 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) Independiente Forever's Candido Hermon started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Mercedes FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Jesus Bertin hit a great ball. If Isidoro Ignazio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florentino Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Ibon in the 21st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabio Ibon in the 22nd minute of play forced Mercedes FC's goalkeeper Florentino Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 played minutes Independiente Forever got a freekick which was hit by Inocencio Garaile. In the 28th minute, Candido Hermon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Candido Hermon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Florentino Paz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aurelio Florin. In the 38th minute, Fabio Ibon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Jesus Bertin fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mercedes FC's protests and gave Jesus Bertin a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th match minute, Mercedes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Bertin to maneuver through the defense. When Fabio Ibon came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Independiente Forever fans jumped to their feet. Independiente Forever's supporters crossed their fingers, but Candido Hermon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florentino Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Candido Hermon, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Florentino Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Sindo in the 58th minute of the match. If Fabio Ibon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isidoro Ignazio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vinicio Garci came out and tried to block the shot, but Isidoro Ignazio slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 62nd minute. Fabio Ibon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florentino Paz having to interfere. Candido Hermon struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Florentino Paz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente Forever. When Candido Hermon came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Independiente Forever fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Candido Hermon couldn't finish the play. Mercedes FC's Florentino Paz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Ibon in the 76th minute of play.
