The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to River Plate getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Arnaldo Onofre hit a great ball. 7 minutes into the match, Ruben Txurio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardino Ladio. River Plate's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ruben Txurio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Lorenzo Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Eliu, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After 15 played minutes boca juniors got a freekick which was hit by Generoso Sancho. In the 16th minute of the match Jonas Ritchie shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lorenzo Telesforo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Omar Peru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 22 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Onofre. Omar Peru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bernardino Ladio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Justino Eliu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Telesforo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernardino Ladio came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by boca juniors's Omar Peru. But to his dismay, Omar Peru quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Lorenzo Telesforo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justino Eliu in the 33rd minute of the match. boca juniors's Lorenzo Telesforo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Eliu in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Omar Peru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardino Ladio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lorenzo Telesforo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Eliu, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Justino Eliu took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Lorenzo Telesforo to make any attempt to save it. The River Plate players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. boca juniors were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Omar Peru to strike the kick off in the second half. Bernardino Ladio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Simon Handi went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justino Eliu in the 60th minute of play forced boca juniors's goalkeeper Lorenzo Telesforo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardino Ladio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Peru in the 71st minute of the match. Lorenzo Telesforo came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Constantino Gar. But to his dismay, Constantino Gar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Lorenzo Telesforo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Justino Eliu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Simon Handi took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardino Ladio. Bernardino Ladio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-6. Simon Handi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Bernardino Ladio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bernardino Ladio had great luck who in the 91stth minute grab hold of the ball when Omar Peru from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 95 minutes into the game, Omar Peru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-7. Bernardino Ladio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The boca juniors supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing boca juniors would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
