But to his dismay, Baldomero Egoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Gaston Gaskon scored 1-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Victorio Emenon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. PoMpEyA's Baldomero Egoi got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victorio Emenon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaston Gaskon's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After 43 played minutes Club Atlético Belgrano got a freekick which was hit by Roddie Finlayson.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Txurio in the 54th minute of play forced PoMpEyA's goalkeeper Victorio Emenon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, PoMpEyA's goal looked a bit too open when Cosme Maxin came free, but Victorio Emenon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaston Gaskon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Victorio Emenon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After 63 minutes, Cosme Maxin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Belgrano and the PoMpEyA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cosme Maxin kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Baldomero Egoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PoMpEyA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Baldomero Egoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 75 played minutes Club Atlético Belgrano got a freekick which was hit by Luis Poncio. If Apolo Marin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baldomero Egoi got free with El Bala in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in PoMpEyA's zone, Gaston Gaskon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Victorio Emenon came out of the goal and Gaston Gaskon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Club Atlético Belgrano players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
