Mario Arnas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Cordaryal in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Belgrano's Gerardo Cortez got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 39th match minute, Belgrano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteve Galsino to maneuver through the defense. If Hugo Cordaryal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo Cordaryal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Belgrano's Mario Arnas got control of the ball when Hugo Cordaryal tried to sneak it across the goal line. ATAHUALPA YUPANQUI FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hugo Cordaryal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carmelo Frances showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerardo Cortez, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 79 minutes into the game, one of Belgrano:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hugo Cordaryal walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Saul Acosta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mario Arnas having to interfere. Augusto Ciano charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augusto Ciano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Augusto Ciano hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Saul Acosta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugo Cordaryal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hugo Cordaryal was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. ATAHUALPA YUPANQUI FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. ATAHUALPA YUPANQUI FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Belgrano to leave the ground with a draw.
