In the 29th minute Samuel Osoitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Loramendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute Baldomiro Acuña shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Cordaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fausto Sol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Honorato Lucado got free with Clemente Cordaro in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Samuel Osoitz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Loramendi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Honorato Lucado to make the kick off. Clemente Cordaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Lucado in the 53rd minute of play. Tomas Aguirre charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tomas Aguirre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th match minute, Los Decadentes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Aguirre to maneuver through the defense. If Honorato Lucado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honorato Lucado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 69 minutes into the match, Los Decadentes's goal looked a bit too open when Honorato Lucado came free, but Clemente Cordaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Samuel Osoitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 78th minute Honorato Lucado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Cordaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorato Lucado in the 87th minute of play forced Los Decadentes's goalkeeper Clemente Cordaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Douglas Haig's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Baldomiro Acuña in the 89th minute. At last the ball reached Federico Godoy at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Los Decadentes. 2-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Los Decadentes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Douglas Haig.
