Juliano Kayser sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Macondo's zone, Victorio Aresti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermelando Torio came out of the goal and Victorio Aresti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alberto Bonifaco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guto de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Hermelando Torio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Los Araucanos 's Alberto Bonifaco in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Macondo's goalie prevented a goal. Hermelando Torio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Bonifaco in the 19th minute of the match. When Elpidio Ovando came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Macondo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Ovando couldn't finish the play. When Aquiles Loramendi fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Macondo's protests and gave Aquiles Loramendi a yellow card for diving instead. Aquiles Loramendi hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute of the match, Javier Batistuta got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jonas Milian was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Macondo were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Los Araucanos 's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Elpidio Ovando took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Aquiles Loramendi heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The corner ended in Victorio Aresti almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Macondo's Hermelando Torio did a great save. Aquiles Loramendi kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Hermelando Torio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Bonifaco in the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Macondo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gogo Geofredo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Los Araucanos booed when Macondo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 49 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gogo Geofredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 61st minute Javier Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Milian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Macondo's Elpidio Ovando got a free kick in the 69th minute. With a little luck, Macondo's Hermelando Torio got control of the ball when Alberto Bonifaco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hermelando Torio made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Miguel Eliazar sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Araucanos 's Alberto Bonifaco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hermelando Torio. That made the score 1-1 after 73 minutes of play. Alberto Bonifaco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Javier Batistuta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Javier Batistuta took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonas Milian. Jonas Milian dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The supporters of Macondo booed when Los Araucanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Miliano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Macondo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
