In the 25th minute Ovidio Orain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonatan Venerando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Metrópolis City's Jonatan Venerando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Lauaxeta in the 26th minute of play. Jonatan Venerando didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tadeo Costante went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Håkan Bjursell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisito Etor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonatan Venerando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Claus in the 38th minute of the match. Håkan Bjursell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Viator, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 42nd minute, Julio Goi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Libertad Sporting Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. After the first half Libertad Sporting Club were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nereo Claus was the one to do the kick off. The referee gave Libertad Sporting Club a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leonel Abella, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Metrópolis City's Jonatan Venerando. 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in Metrópolis City's zone, Julio Goi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonatan Venerando came out of the goal and Julio Goi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Goi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Jonatan Venerando tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Orain in the 67th minute of play forced Metrópolis City's goalkeeper Jonatan Venerando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Mazza might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonatan Venerando. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vítor Mazza ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 72nd minute, Libertad Sporting Club's Julio Goi dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. After 75 played minutes Metrópolis City got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Birila. In the 79th minute of the match Nemesio Dantae sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonatan Venerando skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Metrópolis City getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Paulo Tirso hit a great ball. Lisandro Dominguez charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lisandro Dominguez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th minute, Lisandro Dominguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Fermin Lauaxeta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Libertad Sporting Club were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
