Trelew's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lorenzo Frichoso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Trelew's Leonel Porfirio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Larra in the 12th minute of play. Pablo Cai recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute Pablo Cai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mutlu Necil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 26 played minutes Trelew got a freekick which was hit by Israel Venceslao. The supporters of Virginia AFC booed when Trelew was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Cai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mutlu Necil didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Trelew's Mauricio Erruki shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Mutlu Necil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauricio Erruki in the 36th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

With a little luck, Virginia AFC's Mutlu Necil got control of the ball when Baldomiro Abarca tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leonel Porfirio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mauro Larra went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Mauro Larra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Mauro Larra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonel Porfirio was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. With 70 minutes on the clock, Gaston Savier commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 69 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Virginia AFC! Benicio Gumaro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mutlu Necil. Virginia AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 78th minute, Mauricio Erruki reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mutlu Necil. The goal made the score 3-5. The supporters of Virginia AFC booed when Trelew was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santo Javiero didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Israel Venceslao during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 97th minute, Mauro Larra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Trelew supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Trelew would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
