Chapelco's Isidro Guillen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Chapelco from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Urbano Ortzi in the 22nd minute of play forced Chapelco's goalkeeper Isidro Guillen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chapelco's Isidro Guillen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urbano Ortzi in the 26th minute of play. Santiago Gudesteo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Dante Loco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Americo Acuña. San Telmo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dante Loco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. If Roque Ferrer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With 44 minutes on the clock, Braulio Remicio commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 43 minutes into the game, one of Chapelco:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Abel Menendo made the kick off in the second half. If Santiago Gudesteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciro Franco charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciro Franco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ciro Franco hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. San Telmo's Americo Acuña proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save San Telmo from getting a goal against them. In the 61st minute Santiago Gudesteo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Americo Acuña saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roque Ferrer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Guillen having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Chapelco got a freekick which was hit by Silverio Guilabertus. 70 minutes into the match, Urbano Ortzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isidro Guillen. Chapelco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Urbano Ortzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Santiago Gudesteo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Americo Acuña having to interfere. San Telmo made a substitution. Constantino Bernabel replaced Leonel Jago. A collision led to San Telmo getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Ubaldo Karmel hit a great ball. After having played for 89 minutes, Santiago Gudesteo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chapelco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Gudesteo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Isidro Guillen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Urbano Ortzi in the 92nd minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. San Telmo fully deserved thier win.
