Candido Montrell hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in riverplate's zone, Rubin Staples stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Orlondon came out of the goal and Rubin Staples tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nestor Bertran received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Eliáš Verner came out and tried to block the shot, but Nestor Bertran slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute, Matías Benvenuto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guido Sengrat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Silvano Otsoko fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Platense's protests and gave Silvano Otsoko a yellow card for diving instead. Silvano Otsoko kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Filip Stanin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eliáš Verner. That made the score 3-0 in the 28 minute of play. Eliáš Verner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonatan Oidor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Nestor Bertran ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eliáš Verner was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. C. A. Platense's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Paulo Lizardi scored to the left of an out of position Eliáš Verner, making the score, 6-0. 47 minutes into the game, Paulo Lizardi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Eliáš Verner. Paulo Lizardi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 7-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rubin Staples to make the kick off. Matías Benvenuto's late challenge caught a riverplate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matías Benvenuto helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of riverplate booed when C. A. Platense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Benvenuto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Jonatan Oidor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eliáš Verner. C. A. Platense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonatan Oidor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. The supporters of riverplate booed when C. A. Platense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ladislao Madaleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for C. A. Platense! Guido Sengrat placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Nestor Bertran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliáš Verner dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. 82 minutes into the game, Paulo Lizardi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Eliáš Verner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 87thth minute of the game Paulo Lizardi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Platense's Eliáš Verner was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 88 minutes into the game, riverplate's Jonatan Oidor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliáš Verner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. 97 minutes into the match, C. A. Platense's goal looked a bit too open when Jonatan Oidor came free, but Eliáš Verner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that riverplate were the better team. riverplate's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
