Hipatía's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villa Madero the free kick. In the 20th minute, Silvestre Jax hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aquilino Silviano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Taurino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alvaro Lizer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Hipatía's goalkeeper Aquilino Silviano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvaro Lizer. In the 32nd minute, Alvaro Lizer made a precise shot to the right of Aquilino Silviano. Hipatía's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 35th minute Uriel Taurino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aquilino Silviano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hipatía's Arnoldo Ariando pulled a muscle in his back after 38 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Patricio Endura's late challenge caught a Hipatía's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patricio Endura helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute, Delmar Ayala sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Villa Madero's Emiliano Qwinton didn't even have to move. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Delmar Ayala was the one to do the kick off. Aquilino Silviano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Lizer in the 80th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hipatía's Leonardo Tallia got a free kick in the 86th minute. Alvaro Lizer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Silviano having to interfere. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Villa Madero were victorious despite being under pressure from Hipatía for much of the match.
