Racing Club's Clodoveo Txeru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Ariando in the 16th minute of play. Clodoveo Txeru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnoldo Ariando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Hipatía's Aquilino Silviano got control of the ball when Vilgot Lindkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vilgot Lindkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aquilino Silviano having to interfere. In the 24th match minute, Hipatía was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Loiola to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Ariando in the 32nd minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Clodoveo Txeru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Fabricio Dantae ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clodoveo Txeru was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vilgot Lindkvist got free with Aquilino Silviano in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Arnoldo Ariando managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hipatía's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnoldo Ariando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clodoveo Txeru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Hipatía's Rodrigo Loiola got a free kick in the 46th minute. The Racing Club players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hipatía were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnoldo Ariando to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Racing Club's goalkeeper Clodoveo Txeru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnoldo Ariando. With an all-out effort, Hipatía's Clodoveo Txeru threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Leonardo Tallia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 58th match minute, Hipatía was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delmar Ayala to maneuver through the defense. Niceto Ayala scored 1-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aquilino Silviano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Racing Club booed when Hipatía was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodrigo Loiola didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabricio Dantae got free with Clodoveo Txeru in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aquilino Silviano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vilgot Lindkvist in the 82nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Tallia in the 92nd minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Clodoveo Txeru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristobal Telesforo hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Arnoldo Ariando might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clodoveo Txeru. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnoldo Ariando ran back to his position shaking his head.
