Gaston Grabiel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Benigno Procopio fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Urquiza FC's protests and gave Benigno Procopio a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Deportivo Urquiza FC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Benigno Procopio hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristobal Terciero got free with Dionisio Vermudo in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Apolo Karlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, COSMOS F.C.'s Dionisio Vermudo got control of the ball when Cristobal Terciero tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fabricio Nahia lost his temper 33 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 42nd minute, Hugo Guillelmus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Arnulfo Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Cosme Arias made the kick off in the second half. Cristobal Terciero kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Arnulfo Gilabert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Teodoro Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Urquiza FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave COSMOS F.C. the free kick. After 55 played minutes Deportivo Urquiza FC got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Marquez. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Gilabert in the 58th minute of play forced Deportivo Urquiza FC's goalkeeper Gaston Grabiel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Urquiza FC reached it. If Arnulfo Gilabert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Benigno Procopio was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 76 played minutes Deportivo Urquiza FC got a freekick which was hit by Benigno Procopio. After 84 played minutes COSMOS F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Joel Tercero. Dionisio Vermudo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Avellaneda in the 87th minute of play. Arnulfo Gilabert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gaston Grabiel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. COSMOS F.C. made a substitution. Juan Tohias replaced Arnulfo Gilabert. The Deportivo Urquiza FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
