The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sören Gunnarsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Aaron Osoro made a huge save. Estudiantes FC's Flavio Gaizko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonardo Lorencio in the 8th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leonardo Lorencio in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavio Gaizko saved Estudiantes FC from getting behind. Flavio Gaizko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Lorencio, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Flavio Gaizko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolo Senio in the 21st minute of the match. Fernando Leonard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Flavio Gaizko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sören Gunnarsson made a kick off. When Mauro Lucian came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Los pibes DM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mauro Lucian couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro Lucian got free with Flavio Gaizko in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leonardo Lorencios short, quick shot in the 60thth minute got Flavio Gaizko to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Flavio Gaizko made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Bartolo Senio sent off a good shot on target. Estudiantes FC's Flavio Gaizko proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Estudiantes FC from getting a goal against them. In the 71st match minute, Estudiantes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonzalo Ishmael to maneuver through the defense. Leonardo Lorencio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 74thth minute tested the skills of Flavio Gaizko when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 77 minutes, Damian Asur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Estudiantes FC and the Los pibes DM players grew even worse after the yellow card. A wasted opportunity for Los pibes DM. 94 minutes into the game, Fernando Leonard recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Flavio Gaizko. Fernando Leonard showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Los pibes DM's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
