In the 8th minute, Amadeo Oinaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Bernardo Montel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eriberto Loco made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Ricardo Perpinya sent off a good shot on target. After 12 minutes, Amadeo Oinaz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Depo Beltràn and the Douglas Haig players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 12 played minutes Depo Beltràn got a freekick which was hit by Amadeo Oinaz. If Bernardo Montel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Perpinya hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Montel in the 18th minute of play forced Douglas Haig's goalkeeper Isaac Giraldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hipolito Orzaize had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Bernardo Montel made a precise shot to the right of Isaac Giraldo. Douglas Haig's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Bernardo Montel might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isaac Giraldo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bernardo Montel ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Carmelo Goyo made the kick off in the second half. If Bernardo Montel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Douglas Haig's zone, Bernardo Montel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaac Giraldo came out of the goal and Bernardo Montel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eriberto Loco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmelo Goyo in the 62nd minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Depo Beltràn got a freekick which was hit by Fabricio Azibar. With a little luck, Douglas Haig's Isaac Giraldo got control of the ball when Bernardo Montel tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Damaso Pabla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Montel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Douglas Haig's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Damaso Pabla 77 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-4. 81 minutes into the game, Depo Beltràn's Bernardo Montel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isaac Giraldo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Pascual Calisto kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. When Bernardo Montel came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Depo Beltràn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Montel couldn't finish the play. Douglas Bäcklin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Isaac Giraldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Depo Beltràn's Eriberto Loco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Perpinya in the 97th minute of play.
