In the 3rd match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Baristo to maneuver through the defense. Saverio Gorens short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Leonides Frechoso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Leonides Frechoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas Nisio in the 6th minute of the match. If Ismael Artaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deportivo San Martín were furious when Roger Dias was red carded, 10 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Deportivo San Martín's Roger Dias got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute, Saverio Goren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Apolo Reynardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Juvenal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Deportivo San Martín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agenor Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Saverio Goren in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonides Frechoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ismael Artaldo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Frechoso having to interfere. Saverio Goren took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonides Frechoso. Leonides Frechoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 33rd minute, Hernan Euloxu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boca Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Hipolito Obano struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Apolo Reynardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. Deportivo San Martín's Apolo Reynardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerardo Baristo in the 37th minute of play. Ismael Artaldo kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After 40 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Jonatan Restu. In the 46th minute, Efrain Mercurio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute Remigio Walme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Apolo Reynardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gerardo Baristo kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Saverio Goren to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Saverio Goren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonides Frechoso. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonides Frechoso should have stopped the shot. When Ismael Artaldo came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Deportivo San Martín fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismael Artaldo couldn't finish the play. After 62 minutes of play, Deportivo San Martín's Saverio Goren made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonides Frechoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Apolo Reynardo made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Cecilio Juvenal sent off a good shot on target. Apolo Reynardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Euloxu, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Boca Juniors's Cecilio Juvenal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Apolo Reynardo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 73rdth minute of the game Saverio Goren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boca Juniors's Leonides Frechoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Saverio Goren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Frechoso was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Saverio Goren might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leonides Frechoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Saverio Goren ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Saverio Goren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo San Martín's supporters rose to their feet, but Saverio Goren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonides Frechoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Ismael Artaldo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Deportivo San Martín getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ismael Artaldo hit a great ball. Saverio Goren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Saverio Goren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonides Frechoso came out of the goal and Saverio Goren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ismael Artaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Damaso Bazkoare hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Jonatan Restu hit a great ball. Deportivo San Martín walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
