In the 6th minute Panu Pihlman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lázaro Bonifaco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cañani FC's Lázaro Bonifaco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laureano Ubarna in the 8th minute of play. In the 10th minute of the match, Julio Distiratsu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jorge Ricart saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 13th minute of the match, Elpidio Gai got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jorge Ricart was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 14 minutes into the game, Gregorio Nazario was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cañani FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gastres AFC the free kick. A collision led to Cañani FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Gregorio Nazario hit a great ball. Serafino Dunixi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Ricart having to interfere. Jairo Matei was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. The supporters of Cañani FC booed when Gastres AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Matei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laureano Ubarna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lázaro Bonifaco having to interfere. Jorge Ricart showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julio Distiratsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Lázaro Bonifaco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laureano Ubarna in the 34th minute of the match. When Marcelino Porfirio fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gastres AFC's protests and gave Marcelino Porfirio a yellow card for diving instead. Marcelino Porfirio hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Elpidio Gais short, quick shot in the 39thth minute got Jorge Ricart to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Gastres AFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Gaston Duarte hit a great ball. A collision led to Gastres AFC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Cirilo Telo hit a great ball. After the first half Gastres AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Elpidio Gai stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Cañani FC's Julio Distiratsu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jorge Ricart made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Jorge Ricart showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Walme, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Cañani FC's Freddy Fernanco suffered a sprained foot after 58 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laureano Ubarna during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jorge Ricart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Distiratsu in the 61st minute of play. In the 66th minute Julio Distiratsu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Ricart saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Ricart showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Distiratsu in the 70th minute of the match. Guido Walme scored 3-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorge Ricart, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Gastres AFC defense, Elpidio Gai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Ricart. The Gastres AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Ricart should have stopped the shot. Julio Distiratsu scored 5-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorge Ricart, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 84 minutes of play, Cañani FC's Ivan Eder made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorge Ricart was left in no man's land by his defense there! 7-1 became the score in the 87th minute when Julio Distiratsu elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Jorge Ricart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Gai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eulalio Lia took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jorge Ricart. Jorge Ricart dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-1. When the referee ended the match the Cañani FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
