Casimiro Cibran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Leopoldo Arano made a huge save. In the 13th minute Americo Jurgi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Arano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Ruisko in the 20th minute of play forced Vásquez FC's goalkeeper Leopoldo Arano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leopoldo Arano was a little too slow when Casimiro Cibran got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 2-1. Baldomiro Damario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iker Pueblo having to make a save. After 46 minutes of play, Vásquez FC's Baldomiro Damario made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Iker Pueblo was left in no man's land by his defense there! The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baldomiro Damario was the one to do the kick off. Tobias Baleren charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tobias Baleren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vásquez FC's Leopoldo Arano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Ruisko in the 65th minute of play. Leopoldo Arano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Ruisko, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 93rd minute, Ricardo Ruisko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Itatí FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-2. Vásquez FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
