The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Fernandes got free with Feliciano Elequemedo in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Telsen AFC booed when ILEX FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregorio Matthew didn't get a good kick on the ball. Feliciano Elequemedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Lazcano in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, ILEX FC's Marcelino Gaufred got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 79 played minutes, Telsen AFC's Sixto Theodore shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gavino Obeko came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The referee gave ILEX FC a penalty, 97 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Apolo Sidoro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Telsen AFC's Feliciano Elequemedo. 2-1. Telsen AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
