The Platense fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Platense's Tobias Xabat looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hernan Gitano made a kick off. With a little luck, Platense's Paulino Matai got control of the ball when Léo Messi tried to sneak it across the goal line. CF LEM's Anibal Turi got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Platense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CF LEM the free kick.
