In the 18thth minute of the game Albano Frasquito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sacanta FC's Elpidio Tano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Elpidio Tano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Tadzio in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Abelardo Cresenciano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sacanta FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chapelco the free kick. After 22 played minutes Sacanta FC got a freekick which was hit by Abelardo Cresenciano. Rauf Tanyıldız received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Elpidio Tano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chapelco's Poul Magn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Chapelco from getting a goal against them. Rauf Tanyıldız sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Chapelco booed when Sacanta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Hori didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute Albano Frasquito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Tano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damaso Santiago got free with Poul Magn in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Rafael Tipi came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Sacanta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Tipi couldn't finish the play. Sacanta FC's Ricardo Herena shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 47th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Poul Magn but with some difficulty. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albano Frasquito to make the kick off. Freddy Tadzio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Poul Magn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Santiago in the 75th minute of the match. Elpidio Tano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gavino Loren in the 78th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Chapelco's Gavino Loren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elpidio Tano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chapelco's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
