The audience thought a goal was coming when Romeo Gai got free with Ramon Lucila in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Club Atlético Lanús's Ramon Lucila proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atlético Lanús from getting a goal against them. Eloy Lia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Lino Toribio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfredo Venceslas in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramon Lucila prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Claris was the one to do the kick off. Eloy Lia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Toribio having to interfere. Los Bob Marley's Alfredo Venceslas got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romeo Gai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Lucila having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Alfredo Venceslas made a precise shot to the right of Ramon Lucila. Club Atlético Lanús's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Ramon Lucila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Venceslas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 73 minutes into the match, Alfredo Venceslas notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Club Atlético Lanús's Ramon Lucila.
