The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hermengildo Osoro's late challenge caught a Ciénega AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hermengildo Osoro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th match minute, Resistencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermengildo Osoro to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute, Franck Prichovice hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 10 minutes, Franck Prichovice managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Resistencia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franck Prichovice was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Oskarbi in the 14th minute of play forced Ciénega AFC's goalkeeper Benigno Illart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes of play, Ciénega AFC's Christian Ortle made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick Lara was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 19th minute Christian Ortle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Resistencia's Donato Gaitan got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vinicio Behe kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. With a little luck, Ciénega AFC's Benigno Illart got control of the ball when Donato Gaitan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benigno Illart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Kismi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingos Orlan kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. When Resistencia's Donato Gaitan in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ciénega AFC's goalie prevented a goal. With 45 minutes on the clock, Gualterio Ondino commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 46 played minutes Ciénega AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gualterio Ondino. With a little luck, Ciénega AFC's Benigno Illart got control of the ball when Celedonio Regis tried to sneak it across the goal line.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Ortle to strike the kick off in the second half. Diego Kismi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Benigno Illart tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ciénega AFC's Vinicio Behe got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Ortle got free with Patrick Lara in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benigno Illart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Gaitan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 69 minutes into the game, Franck Prichovice was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Resistencia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ciénega AFC the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christian Ortle during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Uriel Ovando came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Patrick Lara could save by the left post. 79 minutes into the game, Resistencia's Donato Gaitan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benigno Illart made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 83rd minute, Donato Gaitan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benigno Illart was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. If Ezequiel Theodore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benigno Illart took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Oskarbi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christian Ortle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Patrick Lara made a huge save. Hermengildo Osoro got his second yellow card in the match during the 97th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 98th match minute, Resistencia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermengildo Osoro to maneuver through the defense. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Resistencia had played much better football throughout.
