In the 5th minute Miguel Sergi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Efren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Americo Etxatxu scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jacinto Efren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 17 minutes into the match, Rodio's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Cannata came free, but Jorge Cugat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rodio's zone, Saturnino Amaya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Cugat came out of the goal and Saturnino Amaya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30thth minute of the game Anselmo Cannata who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rodio's Jorge Cugat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jorge Cugat made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Saturnino Amaya sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute, Anselmo Cannata ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Cugat was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Jorge Cugat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Saturnino Amaya in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

A collision led to Rodio getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Americo Etxatxu hit a great ball. In the 53rd minute, Anselmo Cannata ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Cugat was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Jorge Cugat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saturnino Amaya in the 57th minute of play. After some careless play in the Rodio defense, Anselmo Cannata kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Cugat. The Rodio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Cugat should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute Anselmo Cannata shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Cugat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melquiades Ebardo hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Orgullo Nacional made a substitution. Alan Carvalho replaced Anselmo Cannata. After 76 minutes of play, Orgullo Nacional's Alan Carvalho made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jorge Cugat was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 88th minute Saturnino Amaya shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Cugat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodio's Jorge Cugat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saturnino Amaya in the 90th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Orgullo Nacional fully deserved thier win.
