After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Damaso Alonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Centenario's supporters rose to their feet, but Damaso Alonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jairo Banegas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 40 played minutes Centenario got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Artal. Aldo Savion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Emeterio in the 43rd minute of play. Ruben Artal's late challenge caught a Superjunkies's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ruben Artal helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Centenario's Ruben Artal got a free kick in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodrigo Emeterio to make the kick off. Jairo Banegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damaso Alonso in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Victor Menendo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aldo Savion was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 67th minute, Virgilio Fix made a precise shot to the right of Jairo Banegas. Superjunkies's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. If Victor Menendo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92ndth minute of the game Rodrigo Emeterio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Centenario's Aldo Savion was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Superjunkies booed when Centenario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Artal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Superjunkies's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
