The referee felt a red card was in order, 16 minutes into the game, when Marcial Castel put in a rough tackle. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Empernadores del Oeste! The goalkeeper, Elias Mon, was totally fooled by Boca Juniors's Rhys Hand, who 17 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 20th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zygmunt Jaks to maneuver through the defense. Teofilo Basajaun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Siro Santana's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Elias Mon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amador Ibon in the 24th minute of play. In the 26th minute Siro Santana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofilo Basajaun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Amador Ibon reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elias Mon. The goal made the score 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amador Ibon in the 32nd minute of play forced Empernadores del Oeste's goalkeeper Elias Mon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Empernadores del Oeste's goalkeeper Elias Mon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. German Senen kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Amador Ibon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elias Mon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulino Berdoi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elias Mon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rhys Hand in the 53rd minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Charlie Paulin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Elias Mon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Empernadores del Oeste's Elias Mon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulino Berdoi in the 60th minute of play. Elias Mon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Paulin in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute Teofilo Orlondon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofilo Basajaun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 67 minutes, Siro Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Empernadores del Oeste and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card.
