The audience thought a goal was coming when Artemio Constancio got free with Bartolo Bernard in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arroyito's Adrian Tono managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Salvador Santiago in the 58 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Lixandro in the 65th minute of play forced Arroyito's goalkeeper Bartolo Bernard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 67 played minutes Arroyito got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Felo. Arroyito's Bartolo Bernard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Rudolfo in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, San Lorenzo de Almagro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christiano Matos to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ermegildo Garoa in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vladimiro Oxel saved San Lorenzo de Almagro from getting behind. Mariano Rudolfo kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Albano Bonifaco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bartolo Bernard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Sylvester Bastmüller scored 5-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bartolo Bernard, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Ermegildo Garoa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vladimiro Oxel was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
