Simon Panpili was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Salt Lake FC's Simon Panpili got control of the ball when Salvador Barros tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denis Pereyra in the 11th minute of play forced Racing Club's goalkeeper Ceferino Gaizko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Denis Pereyra notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Racing Club's Ceferino Gaizko. Ceferino Gaizko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Denis Pereyra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Racing Club getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Nicasio Austin hit a great ball. Santo Leocadio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ceferino Gaizko read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Ceferino Gaizko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Pereyra in the 31st minute of the match. The Salt Lake FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simon Panpili should have stopped the shot. After 38 played minutes Salvador Barros rounded Salt Lake FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. 42 minutes into the game, Horacio Valiente cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Ceferino Gaizko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

The wind increased when Zosimo Dicastillo made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Zosimo Dicastillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simon Panpili was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. In the 57th minute, Salvador Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Robustiano Ikatz fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Salt Lake FC's protests and gave Robustiano Ikatz a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Racing Club booed when Salt Lake FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robustiano Ikatz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Racing Club's Ceferino Gaizko got control of the ball when Denis Pereyra tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 69 minutes Salt Lake FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Anibal Carlomagno who took care of the corner kick. Salvador Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Panpili having to interfere. Salvador Barros scored 5-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simon Panpili, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
