The referee ignored La Habana's protests and gave Laureano Polentzi a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes La Habana got a freekick which was hit by Laureano Polentzi. The audience thought a goal was coming when Placido Claris got free with Tomás Reno in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 18 minutes into the match, Desperado FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eleuterio Abilio came free, but Flavio Atarratze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvio Senin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Flavio Atarratze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Desperado FC's zone, Faustino Ihintza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Atarratze came out of the goal and Faustino Ihintza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Martin Bilintx took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tomás Reno to make any attempt to save it. In the 29th minute of the match Desperado FC got a corner. La Habana's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Placido Claris ran over to the corner to take the kick. Placido Claris made a great header on Desperado FC's corner, it was just that La Habana's Tomás Reno managed to reach the ball for a save. Flavio Atarratze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eleuterio Abilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Desperado FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Prudencio Viator hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Simon Unax in the 41st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by La Habana's Ovidio Losantos. Faustino Ihintza might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Flavio Atarratze. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faustino Ihintza ran back to his position shaking his head. Faustino Ihintza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

After a rather tough play, Desperado FC's Placido Claris got a free kick in the 56th minute. Faustino Ihintza kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. La Habana's Tomás Reno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prudencio Viator in the 70th minute of play. Israel Havier scored 2-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomás Reno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Desperado FC's Prudencio Viator got a free kick in the 83rd minute. After some careless play in the Desperado FC defense, Eleuterio Abilio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Flavio Atarratze. The Desperado FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Atarratze should have stopped the shot. La Habana's attentive Ovidio Losantos managed to snatch the ball when Simon Unax made a throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game. Ovidio Losantoss short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Flavio Atarratze to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Desperado FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
