Zacarias Orlan's late challenge caught a Rawson's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zacarias Orlan helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th match minute, Deportivo Villa Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Orlan to maneuver through the defense. Gabriel Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 25thth minute of the game Gabriel Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Villa Palermo's Gaspar Madeo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 28 played minutes Rawson got a freekick which was hit by Baldomiro Feliu. Julio Iigos short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Saturnino Telo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Villa Palermo's Claudio Tulio got a free kick in the 31st minute. Saturnino Telo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julio Iigo in the 35th minute. With his leg Saturnino Telo managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Deportivo Villa Palermo's Julio Iigo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 38th minute, Baldomiro Feliu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute Julio Iigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saturnino Telo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Henrik Flatmo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaspar Madeo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramon Tallia in the 43rd minute of the match. Saturnino Telo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julio Iigo in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when Gabriel Azevedo made the kick off in the second half. Saturnino Telo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julio Iigo went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramon Tallia during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 57 played minutes Rawson got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Tallia. Saturnino Telo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Iigo in the 58th minute of play. Eustacio Suarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Iigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Telo having to interfere. 67 minutes into the game, Deportivo Villa Palermo's Eustacio Suarez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Saturnino Telo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Eustacio Suarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Telo having to interfere. The Deportivo Villa Palermo fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Deportivo Villa Palermo's Julio Iigo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Deportivo Villa Palermo's Eustacio Suarez got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Deportivo Villa Palermo booed when Rawson was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomiro Feliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eustacio Suarez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Telo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Julio Iigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Villa Palermo's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Iigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saturnino Telo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 89 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Julio Iigo sped through Rawson's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Saturnino Telo. There was no doubt that Deportivo Villa Palermo were the better team. Deportivo Villa Palermo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
