The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gervasio Silban during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 16th minute, Gervasio Silban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 22 minutes, Victor Oskitz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Lorenzo & actuarios and the Derqui FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to San Lorenzo & actuarios getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Victor Oskitz hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Orlan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hugo Illan. San Lorenzo & actuarios's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilfredo Orlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Wilfredo Orlan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Illan having to interfere. After having played for 47 minutes, Federico Fonso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derqui FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Federico Fonso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angel Iratzeder was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo & actuarios's zone, Benjamin Tano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Illan came out of the goal and Benjamin Tano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo & actuarios's Edgard Bittor got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Derqui FC! Fermin Mergildo placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo & actuarios's zone, Benjamin Tano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 64th minute Maximo Larpe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Ramone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jorge Ramone showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Iratzeder, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Wilfredo Orlan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Hugo Illan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. San Lorenzo & actuarios's Hugo Illan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save San Lorenzo & actuarios from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in San Lorenzo & actuarios's zone, Wilfredo Orlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Illan came out of the goal and Wilfredo Orlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Maximo Larpe put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jorge Ramone. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Angel Iratzeder managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lorenzo & actuarios's supporters rose to their feet, but Angel Iratzeder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Ramone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 96 minutes into the match, Angel Iratzeder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jorge Ramone. Derqui FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angel Iratzeder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. When the referee blew the final whistle, San Lorenzo & actuarios could leave the field as winners, despite Derqui FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
