Eustaquio Lawrence might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ovidio Dolcet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eustaquio Lawrence ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 19th minute, Nestor Lawrence got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ovidio Dolcet made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Eustaquio Lawrence sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Churcal FC booed when Cayuqueo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Lawrence didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cayuqueo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cayuqueo's zone, Romulo Aznar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ovidio Dolcet came out of the goal and Romulo Aznar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Eustaquio Lawrence managed to get in a good position for a shot. Churcal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Lawrence was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ovidio Dolcet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Eustaquio Lawrence managed to get in a good position for a shot. Churcal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Lawrence was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eustaquio Lawrence to make the kick off.
