Monteverde FC's Roberto Clemencin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Valentine in the 17th minute of play. When Mariano Jago fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monteverde FC's protests and gave Mariano Jago a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Monteverde FC! The goalkeeper, Roberto Clemencin, was totally fooled by Flores FC's Felipe Giraldo, who 20 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 41st minute Guido Jon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severiano Poncio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 minutes of play Flores FC's Leandro Dantel was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guido Jon to strike the kick off in the second half. Severiano Poncio was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Guido Jon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Guido Jon really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After 60 played minutes Monteverde FC got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Jago. Nemesio Fliz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Roberto Clemencin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baldomiro Burni kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Lorenzo Rami's late challenge caught a Monteverde FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roberto Clemencin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felipe Giraldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Guido Jon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 95 minutes, Nemesio Fliz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flores FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nemesio Fliz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Flores FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Monteverde FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Monteverde FC.
