The penalty shot was made by Dante Abecia, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cachiyuyo's Ruperto Bide. 1-1. Dante Haritz was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Leonel Gorbea capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Leonel Gorbea really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Ignazio in the 19th minute of play forced Club Almagro's goalkeeper Dante Haritz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Braulio Abalos was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 23 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Almagro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! In the 26th minute of the match, Fernando Lehen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dante Haritz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cirilo Ignazio charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Primitivo Sal took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ruperto Bide. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Primitivo Sal sped through Cachiyuyo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ruperto Bide. Dante Haritz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonel Gorbea in the 42nd minute. If Sixto Licerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonel Gorbea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Cachiyuyo's goalkeeper Ruperto Bide had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gavino Amaya. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Sixto Licerio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Almagro's supporters rose to their feet, but Sixto Licerio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Haritz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonel Gorbea, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Primitivo Sal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruperto Bide read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Club Almagro eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
