With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Rius in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esteve Ezkerra saved Muñoz FC from getting behind. Marcelo Rius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteve Ezkerra having to interfere. Timoteo Moise blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Esteve Ezkerra having to make a save. Esteve Ezkerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Rius in the 28th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcelo Rius in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Esteve Ezkerra saved Muñoz FC from getting behind. Marcelo Rius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Esteve Ezkerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. newells's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hugo Fernandes in the 36th minute. The corner led to newells's Ivan Flor getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 0-1 became the score in the 38th minute when Marcelo Rius elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 52 minutes, Jairo Natal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muñoz FC and the newells players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jairo Natal kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Anastasio Guillerme ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aaron Rocendo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Aaron Rocendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Odon, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Aaron Rocendo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Odon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the match, Muñoz FC's Ricardo Odon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Rocendo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Marcelo Rius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esteve Ezkerra was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Jairo Natal hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. newells's Marcelo Rius got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 83 minutes of play, Muñoz FC's Ildefonso Atarrabi made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Rocendo was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Ivan Flor came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the newells fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ivan Flor couldn't finish the play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
