When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Higinio Brion made a kick off. After some careless play in the newells defense, Robustiano Vimaro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aaron Rocendo. The newells fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aaron Rocendo should have stopped the shot. 58 minutes into the game, Atilano Alonso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cabarette FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave newells the free kick. Conrado Johans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Rius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cabarette FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Higinio Brion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
