If Marcelo Eutor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruben Berto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Bizen in the 38th minute of the match. Alonzo Tebaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aristides Efraim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aristides Efraim to strike the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes, Ike Gummow mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SAN JOSE and the Zapiola FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 57 played minutes SAN JOSE got a freekick which was hit by Ike Gummow. Adrian Rutenio's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alonzo Tebaldo firmly grabbed it by the left post. After taking down the ball on Zapiola FC's corner Urbano Quirze fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alonzo Tebaldo quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 63 minutes, Ricardo Cresconio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zapiola FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Cresconio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of SAN JOSE booed when Zapiola FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Eutor didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Zapiola FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ruben Berto should have stopped the shot. When Ike Gummow was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. The supporters of Zapiola FC booed when SAN JOSE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ike Gummow didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 83 played minutes, Zapiola FC's Urbano Quirze shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alonzo Tebaldo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zapiola FC reached it. Ruben Berto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Bizen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruben Berto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Duarte's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Bizen in the 94th minute of play forced Zapiola FC's goalkeeper Ruben Berto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SAN JOSE's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
