Chacarita FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lasse Pihlajamäki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 9th minute Edgardo Eliazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Criston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gerard Puyol came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the La Esperanza F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerard Puyol couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute, Valcho Kopoev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 13th match minute, La Esperanza F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Egoitz to maneuver through the defense. Gerard Puyol had several of the Chacarita FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 17 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Fidel Naldo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ramon Criston made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrique Barbosa in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute, Gerard Puyol reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Fidel Naldo. The goal made the score 3-0. Fidel Naldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Puyol in the 31st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severino Lugo in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fidel Naldo saved Chacarita FC from getting behind. Ramon Criston took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Ilazki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of La Esperanza F.C. booed when Chacarita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo Pontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicanor Ilazki to strike the kick off in the second half. Chacarita FC's Fidel Naldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerard Puyol in the 53rd minute of play. La Esperanza F.C. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
