The supporters of Vanguardia booed when Antinaco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicasio Muno didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Vanguardia's Niceto Figueroa threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Leonides Jokin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Angelino Ellande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Oliveiro in the 9th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Antinaco's goalkeeper Niceto Figueroa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arnaldo Lucado. In the 17th minute, Cleto Turi made a precise shot to the right of Angelino Ellande. Vanguardia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Florencio Cerilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Antinaco booed when Vanguardia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Gaueko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florencio Cerilo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Niceto Figueroa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Antinaco's Cleto Turi got a free kick in the 38th minute. Florencio Cerilo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Niceto Figueroa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Niceto Figueroa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Florencio Cerilo in the 44th minute.

Vanguardia's Angelino Ellande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Vanguardia from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernan Fidensio got free with Angelino Ellande in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Florencio Cerilo came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Vanguardia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florencio Cerilo couldn't finish the play. After having played for 65 minutes, Florencio Cerilo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vanguardia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florencio Cerilo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 66 minutes into the match, Antinaco's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Lucado came free, but Niceto Figueroa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florencio Cerilo in the 68th minute of play forced Antinaco's goalkeeper Niceto Figueroa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Florencio Cerilo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niceto Figueroa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Niceto Figueroa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Florencio Cerilo's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Angelino Ellande made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Hernan Fidensio sent off a good shot on target. If Florencio Cerilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle went the supporters of Antinaco were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Vanguardia side.
