After 35 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Filomeno Bonadona. 40 minutes into the game, Ciriaco Matxin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Christian Bergfeldt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Enrique Calvino made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes, Nereo Chano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Boca and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nereo Chano hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Real Boca! Florentino Orlin shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. In the 70th minute, Real Boca's Ciriaco Matxin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Ciriaco Matxin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Christian Bergfeldt made a huge save. Christian Bergfeldt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciriaco Matxin in the 76th minute of play. Javier Lobo kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. When Teo Joachim came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teo Joachim couldn't finish the play. 84 minutes into the match, Ciriaco Matxin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Bergfeldt. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciriaco Matxin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. 96 minutes into the match, Ciriaco Matxin notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Boca Juniors's Christian Bergfeldt. Christian Bergfeldt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Boca Juniors fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Real Boca were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
