Zeledon Cayo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angel Honrio in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 5th minute of the match, Aaron Cordarrel got a very nice opportunity to score, but Osvaldo Gilen was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Osvaldo Gilen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Gora in the 10th minute of play. Olavarría's Osvaldo Gilen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Olavarría from getting a goal against them. Zeledon Cayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desiderio Tiadoro in the 16th minute of play. Santos Urtats took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zeledon Cayo. Zeledon Cayo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Desiderio Tiadoro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Zeledon Cayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute Fabio Matei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeledon Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Gora fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Gilen having to interfere. Aaron Cordarrel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osvaldo Gilen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Aaron Cordarrel lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Osvaldo Gilen. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angel Honrio was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Olavarría was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angel Honrio to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute Anselmo Gora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Gilen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Leopoldo Isaio fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored los hijos del viento's protests and gave Leopoldo Isaio a yellow card for diving instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Desiderio Tiadoro got free with Zeledon Cayo in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 74 played minutes Olavarría got a freekick which was hit by Baltasar Ceandro. 79 minutes into the match, Angel Honrio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Zeledon Cayo, 1-2. Zeledon Cayo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Hermengildo Inocente. In the 88th minute, Eusebio Belarmo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Desiderio Tiadoro came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Zeledon Cayo could save by the left post. Olavarría succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though los hijos del viento had controlled the match.
