Mandiyú fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Santiago Lazcano should have stopped the shot. Ciro Chesus kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Dep. Mandiyú's zone, Emilio Gustau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Santiago Lazcano came out of the goal and Emilio Gustau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Elizardo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Santiago Lazcano came out and tried to block the shot, but Gustavo Elizardo slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 59th minute. When Ramiro Guerrero came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Dep. Mandiyú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiro Guerrero couldn't finish the play. 75 minutes into the match, Goldney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Venancio Frascuelo came free, but Melchor Firmin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Rosendo Elequemedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goldney FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dep. Mandiyú the free kick.
