Bill Rayner who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 5thth minute tested the skills of Paulo Giraldo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ceibal AFC's goalie Paulo Giraldo was quick on his feet when Bill Rayner aimed and made a shot towards the top left corner. The goalie picked down the ball without great difficulties. Ceibal AFC's Paulo Giraldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Ceibal AFC from getting a goal against them. Bill Rayner took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Giraldo. Paulo Giraldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. With a little luck, Ceibal AFC's Paulo Giraldo got control of the ball when Krzysztof Zatorski tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulo Giraldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto Cabañas, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Paulo Giraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Ivar Indahl in the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Bill Rayner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Trinchera AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. In the 33rd minute Bill Rayner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Giraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th match minute, Ceibal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Menoikeus Papadimitriou to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the game, Bill Rayner recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Paulo Giraldo. Bill Rayner showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. Krzysztof Zatorski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Giraldo having to interfere. Krzysztof Zatorski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Paulo Giraldo came out and tried to block the shot, but Krzysztof Zatorski slotted it home off the left post making it 7-0 in the 45th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

53 minutes into the game, Cirilo Paz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ceibal AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Trinchera AFC the free kick. In the 53rd match minute, Ceibal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cirilo Paz to maneuver through the defense. Trinchera AFC's Jan-Ivar Indahl suffered a sore knee after 55 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Trinchera AFC's Ricardo Baraquiel was substituted for Jan-Ivar Indahl. The supporters of Trinchera AFC booed when Ceibal AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cirilo Paz didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulises Bladi in the 74th minute of play forced Ceibal AFC's goalkeeper Paulo Giraldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bill Rayner scored 11-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Giraldo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 79th match minute, Ceibal AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremias Azubeli to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Roberto Cabañas made a precise shot to the right of Paulo Giraldo. Ceibal AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 12-0. Paulo Giraldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bill Rayner in the 88th minute of play.
