The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulo Giraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Telo in the 2nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Orlondon in the 9th minute of play forced Ceibal AFC's goalkeeper Paulo Giraldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Ceibal AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Orlondon came free, but Paulo Giraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulo Giraldo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Orlondon, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Ceibal AFC's Paulo Giraldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Telo in the 17th minute of play. Juan Orlondon's late challenge caught a Ceibal AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Orlondon helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mansilla AFC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Roque Veronica hit a great ball. If Mario Telo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Juan Orlondon scored 0-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Giraldo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 36 minutes, Luciano Berenguer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mansilla AFC and the Ceibal AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 36th minute, Luciano Berenguer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute Juan Orlondon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Giraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Giraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Telo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Hector Eguntsenti fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ceibal AFC's protests and gave Hector Eguntsenti a yellow card for diving instead. After 48 played minutes Ceibal AFC got a freekick which was hit by Hector Eguntsenti.

Paulo Giraldo made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Juan Orlondon sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th minute, Juan Orlondon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Giraldo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 66th minute, Jeremias Azubeli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaias Ermano took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paulo Giraldo. Ceibal AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Ceibal AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Mario Telo came free, but Paulo Giraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moises Darien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Castel having to interfere. Menoikeus Papadimitriou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Honorio Castel having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Ceibal AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Juan Orlondon fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 81 minutes into the game, Erling Ingemarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ceibal AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mansilla AFC the free kick. In the 82nd minute, Erling Ingemarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ceibal AFC's Paulo Giraldo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Ceibal AFC from getting a goal against them. Juan Orlondon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Paulo Giraldo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mario Telo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Juan Orlondon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mansilla AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
