Sixto Virila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arturo Sandaili in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Merceditas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hong Cheng Yan came free, but Fernan Tanio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Cholila AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardino Quinten to maneuver through the defense. Cholila AFC's Hong Cheng Yan got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fernan Tanio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hong Cheng Yan in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Merceditas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Ayala to maneuver through the defense. Bernardino Quinten scored 2-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernan Tanio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Merceditas FC's goalkeeper Fernan Tanio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hong Cheng Yan got free with Fernan Tanio in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adrian Serafo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Merceditas FC's zone, Hong Cheng Yan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernan Tanio came out of the goal and Hong Cheng Yan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Roque Ayala fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merceditas FC's protests and gave Roque Ayala a yellow card for diving instead. Bernardino Quinten walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Arturo Sandaili made the kick off in the second half. If Benicio Pinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Hong Cheng Yan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cholila AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hong Cheng Yan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernan Tanio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute Hong Cheng Yan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernan Tanio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edgard Vigil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Merceditas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernan Tanio should have stopped the shot. Benicio Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Jimeno Marz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merceditas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. A collision led to Merceditas FC getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Roque Ayala hit a great ball. When the referee ended the match the Cholila AFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
