Apolo Mero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro Ederono in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, one of Deportivo Caseros:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deportivo Caseros. Fausto Menendo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After 15 played minutes Tallarines FC got a freekick which was hit by Mario Rufio. Apolo Mero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Ederono, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ciro Ederono managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tallarines FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciro Ederono was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Apolo Mero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 31 minutes into the game, Tallarines FC's Christian Mouricio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Apolo Mero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Deportivo Caseros:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tallarines FC:s goal. Miroslaw Zbydniewski took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Baltasar Ipar. Baltasar Ipar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Ciro Ederono sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro Ederono to make the kick off.
