Martin Malec was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Baldomero Itzaina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Lanus AFC's Florencio Chico got a free kick in the 39th minute. Verdolá's Martin Malec played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celso Demesio in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celso Demesio made a kick off. Orlando Galoer struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Petar Saletić didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verdolá. Luis Urtzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Petar Saletić tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Verdolá getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Baldomero Itzaina hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Verdolá's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Demesio came free, but Martin Malec reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. From close distance Freddy Tello pressed in the 3-1 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 59 minutes into the game. Petar Saletić showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddy Tello in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 87thth minute of the game Celso Demesio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Verdolá's Martin Malec was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Verdolá booed when Lanus AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Froilan Tonio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lanus AFC had won after a very even match.
