In the 3rd minute, Higinio Fonso made a precise shot to the right of Serafin Artal. Vegeta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 6 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Elvio Naelio. Vegeta's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Higinio Fonso scored to the left of an out of position Serafin Artal, making the score, 2-0. In the 12th minute, Raimundo Enmanuel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Serafin Artal was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 19th minute, River Plate's Higinio Fonso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raimundo Enmanuel got free with Serafin Artal in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vegeta's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Higinio Fonso 24 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 5-0. 27 minutes into the game, Elvio Naelio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Serafin Artal. Elvio Naelio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-0. Tord Grönberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Tord Grönberg took a quick shot and it went in 7-0 without a chance for Serafin Artal to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Vegeta getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Anibal Senen hit a great ball. If Elvio Naelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serafin Artal made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Raimundo Enmanuel sent off a good shot on target. Serafin Artal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Fonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serafin Artal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Elvio Naelio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 8-0 in the 45 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 8-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Raimundo Enmanuel made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of River Plate booed when Vegeta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinicio Llorienzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Vegeta defense, Raimundo Enmanuel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Serafin Artal. The Vegeta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Serafin Artal should have stopped the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Ismael Rosario notched a goal, 10-0, to the right of Vegeta's Serafin Artal. Serafin Artal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th minute, Elvio Naelio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Plate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 12-0. Serafin Artal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tord Grönberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Serafin Artal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raimundo Enmanuel went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 13-0 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vinicio Llorienzo got free with Per-Åke Öberg in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 83 minutes into the match, Elvio Naelio notched a goal, 14-0, to the right of Vegeta's Serafin Artal. Serafin Artal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 86th minute, Raimundo Enmanuel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Serafin Artal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Fonso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raimundo Enmanuel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafin Artal having to interfere. Serafin Artal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Enmanuel in the 92nd minute of play. In the 95th match minute, River Plate was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elvio Naelio to maneuver through the defense.
