If Honorio Lobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Bartolo Urtsua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cristo Maurin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristo Maurin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roberto Baleren came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristo Maurin slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Roberto Baleren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bartolo Urtsua. In the 34th minute RIVER were awarded a corner. Narciso Lizbeth went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Bartolo Urtsua heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Primitivo Liher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Incendio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Geronimo Guilabertus hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Honorio Lobo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RIVER's Primitivo Liher played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Incendio in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristo Maurin was the one to do the kick off. Cristo Maurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boca Juniors's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenio Incendio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute, Bartolo Urtsua got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristo Maurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roberto Baleren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bartolo Urtsua went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Bartolo Urtsua struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Roberto Baleren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIVER. Roberto Baleren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristo Maurin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristo Maurin in the 81st minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Roberto Baleren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geronimo Guilabertus charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geronimo Guilabertus the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartolo Urtsua in the 83rd minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Roberto Baleren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urbano Iruinea to maneuver through the defense. RIVER's Cristo Maurin got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. RIVER walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
