Braulio Sansone hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the game, Rosario Central's Jeronimo Odon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roberto Baleren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 14 minutes, Leon Bernebe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rosario Central's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leon Bernebe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Rosario Central booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Bertin didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jeronimo Odon came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Rosario Central fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeronimo Odon couldn't finish the play. Roberto Baleren came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Rosario Central's Leon Bernebe. But to his dismay, Leon Bernebe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Roberto Baleren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Bernebe, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Jeronimo Odon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Jeronimo Odon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Baleren. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeronimo Odon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Roberto Baleren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leon Bernebe's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. Boca Juniors's Roberto Baleren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Bernebe in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Jeronimo Odon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Baleren. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeronimo Odon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leon Bernebe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Balasi to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes into the match, Jeronimo Odon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Baleren. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jeronimo Odon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. In the 62nd match minute, Rosario Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Astor Santiago to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicanor Eate during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nicanor Eate hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. If Jeronimo Odon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godfredo Bertin kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Leon Bernebe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Boca Juniors's Roberto Baleren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Bernebe in the 82nd minute of play. Leon Bernebe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roberto Baleren came out and tried to block the shot, but Leon Bernebe slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 84th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Bernebe came free, but Roberto Baleren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leon Bernebe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rosario Central had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
